Jennifer Montenegro is an artist, educator, and yoga instructor from Southern California. Her artwork and teachings explore the intersections of mindfulness and creativity through various practices to cultivate self-expression. Her practices include painting, fiber art, photography, and performance. By tapping into the conscious and subconscious mind, her process becomes unpredictable, honest, and fueled with emotions. She studied Art History at California State University of San Bernardino and received her MFA in Studio Art in 2016. Her artwork has been shown at Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art, Riverside Art Museum, SCA Project Gallery, and other venues in Riverside, Pomona, and Los Angeles. Her artwork has been published in Dotphotozine twice: It’s Casual review by Kathy Stewart in 2015 and feature artist by Thomas McGovern in 2014. The Sand Canyon Review featured Jennifer Montenegro paintings in 2013. She is currently working on large paper paintings as an installation to express the importance and love for sketchbooks.
