Jennifer Montenegro is an artist, educator, and yoga instructor from Southern California, currently residing in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her artwork and teaching explores the intersections of spirituality and art making through the experience of meditation. She studied Art History at California State University of San Bernardino and received her MFA in Studio Art in 2016. Montenegro has taught English to children and young adults in Guatemala and currently teaches art and yoga in her community. Her artwork has been shown at Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art, Riverside Art Museum, SCA Project Gallery, and other venues in Riverside, Pomona, and Los Angeles. Her artwork has been published in Dotphotozine twice: It’s Casual review by Kathy Stewart in 2015 and feature artist by Thomas McGovern in 2014. The Sand Canyon Review featured Jennifer Montenegro paintings in 2013. Jennifer is an active artist and educator in her community and is continuously exploring different ideas and approaches through painting, fiber art, photography, and performance to express the subconscious layers and intersections of meditation and the emotions that surface in the process.
